Robert Kajiwara

Robert Kajiwara (Higa) is an Okinawan, Ainu, Native American (Nahua/Raramuri) - Hawaiian singer/songwriter, visual artist, and human rights activist from Oahu, Hawaii. He is a yonsei (fourth generation immigrant) from Nakagusuku Village, Okinawa, of which he is a cultural ambassador for. He is also a Special Envoy for Ke Aupuni O Hawaii (The Hawaiian Kingdom). He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a BA in History, Asia/Pacific focus, and is currently finishing his MA in History from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He is the author of Occupied Okinawa: The U.S. and Japan's destruction of Okinawa's environment and democracy, as well as Ryukyu-Okinawa Impressionism.
