- Sho Shoken. Chuzan Seikan. 1650. 5 volumes – an official history of the Lewchew Islands prepared by the Lewchew Kingdom government, written in Japanese. Covers Lewchew geography, mythology, and foreign relations, with a heavy emphasis on Japan.
- Tei Heitetsu, et. al.. Kyuuyoo. 1743-1876. 26 volumes total written in Chinese with Okinawan annotations. 22 volumes, covering Lewchew history, mythology, court records economic history, and foreign relations with China, Japan, Korea, Annam, Siam, Malay, Razon, Bali, the Dutch, Portugal, France, Britain, and the United States. An additional three volumes are dedicated to relations with the Satsuma clan of Japan, the 1609 invasion, and relations with the Japanese shogun in Edo. An additional volume, titled the Iroo Setsuden is a collection of 142 songs, poems, and Lewchew folkstories.
- Umuroo Sooshi. 1532; 1613; 1623. Twenty-two volumes of ancient Lewchew poetry, songs, prayers, and mythology. 1,553 total entries, 1,144 of which are unique.
