The Peace For Okinawa Coalition is starting a magazine titled Mabuyaa.
Mabuyaa means "soul" in Uchinaguchi, the Okinawan language.
The magazine will be published biannually, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. It will be published primarily in an online / digital format, though a limited number of physical copies will also be available for a fee.
Submissions are open to articles, announcements, photos, drawings, poetry, short stories, etc., as long as it is Okinawa-related.
Submissions from Luchuans / Uchinaanchu are prioritized, as well as from other Indigenous peoples, though submissions from non-Indigenous people will also be considered.
There is no minimum or maximum word limit, though submissions should not be so long that it would lose the interest of readers. We recommend limiting submissions to around 2,000 words maximum unless there is good reason for going over.
Submission does not guarantee publication. Submissions with content that go against the Peace For Okinawa Coalition's values will be rejected.
